What Is CBD Oil?
CBD is an abbreviation for Cannabidiol, also known as "the oil of life", which is a popular natural remedy that is extracted from the plant Cannabis Sativa. CBD is just one out of 100s cannabinoids found in the plant, and unlike the probably most well-known; THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), it is not psychoactive, and thus not euphoric. However, traces of THC will still be found in most approved CBD oils, that’s also the case in our products, but in such insignificant quantities that it has no euphoric effect. This means when consuming CBD drops from Canavita it will not produce a feeling of being "high". Instead, it provides the body with a wide range of beneficial substances which helps it to stay in balance, while at the same time strengthen the immune system. The reason for these positive effects on our body and immune system is due to the human body itself. Endogenous cannabinoids, or "endocannabinoids", is a term for the vital fats found in the body, the function of which is to communicate between specific cells. This system is also known as the ECS, or "The Endocannabinoid System".
The Endocannabinoid System consists of different receptors; CB1 and CB2 receptors, which can be found in the nervous system and the immune system. In addition, these receptors can also be found in various organs, connective tissue, bones, blood vessels and lymph cells, etc. Ingesting cannabinoids stimulates the CB1 and CB2 receptors, which then activate and initiate a process that ultimately brings the body into a natural state of balance.
CBD Oil – a Natural Supplement
CBD oil should be seen as a natural supplement for the body's own functions. As our body itself produces endocannabinoids, similar to the cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, there is a natural compatibility, which means that CBD can stimulate the body's balance and immune system in a safe and effective way. Unfortunately, our experience is that there are many products on the market that are not what they claim to be.Canavita's products comply with all applicable legislation and are tested in an independent laboratory to ensure you the best quality. We therefore guarantee that our oils are 100% natural and free of harmful substances that may appear in the process of extracting CBD from the plant. Therefore, you can safely use Canavita's CBD oils as a supplement to your diet, or a natural alternative to painkillers.
What Are The Benefits of CBD?
The cannabis plant has been used to treat pain or illness for thousands of years, therefore it is only natural that many people still use the plant for this purpose. However, it has become a controversial plant, which many takes a distance from, as some does not believe it can be documented what effects and side effects its use has, and because most people associate it with smoking weed. However, there are known benefits when using CBD oil that you cannot avoid. CBD contains essential nutrients that the body needs, including vitamins and minerals. In addition, CBD oil also has anti-inflammatory properties that among other things can help reduce; Acne, pain in joints and muscles, menstrual pain, as well as a better and deeper night's sleep.
However, some people use CBD oil to alleviate symptoms, or side effects, in connection with more serious diseases and disorders.
Many cancer patients have experienced a subdued of the nausea after chemotherapy, given them back their appetite, and removed the worst discomfort, when using CBD oil. A study investigated the effects of CBD and THC in relation to side effects in cancer treatment. 177 people undergoing cancer treatment found that pain medication had no effect participated in this study. The participants were divided and one group received an extract containing both CBD and THC, and this group experienced a significant reduction in pain and discomfort compared to the other group that only received a THC extract.
Other trials have also shown that CBD may have properties that can prevent cancer from spreading. For example, a laboratory experiment demonstrated that CBD concentrate was able to induce cell death in human breast cancer cells. Another experiment showed that CBD inhibited the spread of aggressive breast cancer in mice. Although these studies have had positive results in terms of inhibiting the spread of cancer and even leading to cell death in cancer cells, these are laboratory experiments that only show how it could work in humans. More extensive studies are therefore necessary in order to draw a definitive conclusion, but the preliminary results have been promising.
Is CBD Legal?
The short answer is; yes, it is. As long as the THC value stays below 0.2%, it is fully legal to use CBD oil in most countries. The reason why Cannabis originally was criminalized is due to the euphoric effect produced by THC, and because it was simply not known whether it could cause lasting damage to the mind and body, including the fear that it could cause psychosis. Fortunately, today we know a lot more about both CBD and THC, due to the hundreds of studies and trials that are carried out annually around the world. Which have identified the different functions and effects that the two cannabinoids have on the body.
There are currently 79 varieties of cannabis that have been approved by the EU and therefore are legal. All these varieties go under the term; "industrial hemp" as their THC content is below the limit value of 0.2%. However, this does not mean that you can just go out and acquire seeds from the varieties, as it still requires a license from the government in your country to be able to grow these legally.
However, research has shown that varieties with a THC content of over 0.2% can also have a medicinal effect. In Denmark, there are only two approved preparations that contain CBD and THC. Namely the medicines: Sativex and Epidiolex, both of which are preparations taken orally, respectively in the form of a mouth spray and an oral solution. Both of these preparations are primarily used for symptom treatment in adult patients with MS (multiple sclerosis) and/or epilepsy.
Are You Permitted To Drive a Car on CBD Oil?
In general, you may drive a car when you have consumed CBD oil. Since it is not CBD that can be measured in the blood, but rather THC. If the oil you use meets the legal requirement that there must be a maximum THC content of 0.2%, and you use the oil within the framework of what is perceived as a normal dosage, then you have nothing to worry about in regards to driving. If, on the other hand, you use an oil with more than 0.2% THC, then the THC values will exceed the permitted limit and you will therefore risk being charged with driving under the influence of narcotics; in worst case, you will lose your driving licence.
Therefore, it is incredibly important not to be lured either by good prices or promises of fantastic results to buy CBD oil with a higher content of THC than is permitted.
Does CBD Oil require a Prescription?
There is also a trial scheme with medical cannabis, which allows doctors to prescribe otherwise illegal products, in the form of cannabis oil, capsules, etc. Both products covered by the trial scheme and those that are approved medicinal products can only be purchased with a prescription from the doctor. These have in common that they are characterized by a high THC level, in contrast to the cannabis oil and CBD oil that can be bought over the counter. Not all doctors are equally willing to write these prescriptions, either because of the lack of evidence, or because of personal beliefs or attitudes towards medical cannabis. If your doctor does not want to issue a prescription for these preparations, CBD oil is a natural and not least legal alternative that does not require a prescription. However, we still recommend that you talk to your doctor if you plan to use CBD oil in connection with symptom relief or similar.
How Do You Use CBD Oil?
There are many ways to use CBD, and it is available in many different forms, such as capsules, creams and even wine gums. At Canavita, we have chosen to focus on the oil, as it is easy to consume and absorb. With the built-in pipette in the lid, the desired dosage is dripped under the tongue and held in the mouth for approximately. 20 seconds before swallowing. The mucosal surface under the tongue is relatively large, and this means that the CBD oil is quickly and efficiently absorbed into the body. Ultimately, the method of ingestion is a matter of taste and preference. For some it is difficult to swallow capsules or pills, if this is the case for you, then CBD oil is a very good alternative. If you are interested in other ways to consume your CBD oil, you can benefit from reading our blog post about recipes, for example for a delicious iced coffee.
How Fast Does CBD Oil Work?
There are several factors that come into play here. It depends, among other things of; age, weight, metabolism, and most importantly – how your body reacts to CBD. In most cases, it will take 2-5 days before you start to feel a change in your body, so it is important that you do not give up because you do not experience an immediate effect. Instead, be patient and stick to your dosage and the effect will come by itself. We recommend that you keep a logbook of your dosage amount, as it gives an overview of where you are in your tolerance, where from you can identify the dose that gives you the desired effect.
There is no definitive and perfect guide for how CBD oil should be dosed, and it is also necessary for the body to build a natural tolerance. We therefore recommend that you start slowly and increase your dose until you achieve the desired effect - typically over 5 weeks.
At Canavita, we have summarized a simple dosage guide, based on research into CBD and dosage. This guide can be used to find the optimal strength and dose for you, based on you and your purpose for using CBD oil.
After all, we as people are different and we experience the consumption of various substances in different ways. This is also why some people do not feel they achieve the desired effect when using CBD oil. However, there can be several reasons for this, but most often it is due to impatience in relation to building up a tolerance and finding the dose that best suits the individual person.
Therefore, we encourage you to be patient and not give up because you do not experience the desired effect immediately. It is also important to remember that CBD products should not be confused with medicine. It is not a miracle cure for serious illness, and Canavita strongly recommends that you see a doctor if you experience sudden pain or other symptoms of serious illness.
CBD Oil for Anxiety and Depression
It has been found that CBD consumption can have a positive effect on anxiety and depression. A study from Brazil, where the participants had to speak in public, showed that by consuming 300mg of CBD, it significantly reduced their anxiety. The group that was given a placebo, respectively a 150mg and a 600mg dose, on the other hand, experienced no effect. Other studies have also shown that CBD can have an antidepressant-like effect. Both of these effects on the mind are thought to be linked to CBD's ability to activate the brain's serotonin receptors, which regulate mood and social behavior. The above is just a small handful of the many studies and trials that have been and are still being carried out to investigate and map the effects of CBD oil on the human body. Regardless of the outcome of these and other future trials, one can already conclude that CBD has a positive effect on the body when taken as a dietary supplement, just as it strengthens the immune system. That in itself is a huge advantage and makes CBD an ideal supplement for your diet and your health.
In addition, CBD oil is absorbed faster and more efficiently in the body, where capsules or pills first have to go through the process of the stomach, where they have to dissolve before they can be absorbed into the body. If you want to read more about some of the many studies, we have collected some of them, as well as other interesting informative articles, on our blog about CBD oil. Here you can read about how CBD can help with ADHD, and how CBD oil can help with your anxiety.
CBD Oil for Pain Relief
One of the questions we most frequently are asked is: Does CBD oil work against pain? Yes, CBD oil can have a helpful effect on various types of pain, but it is not a cure for pain in that sense. This should be noted if you intend to use CBD oil for pain. If, for example, you suffer from pain in your back, then the CBD oil does not remove the course of the back pain, but instead helps the body to relax better, so you can get rid of the muscle tension that causes the pain.CBD oil for pain relief is one of the most explored areas of research, when it comes to studying the various effects of using CBD. Research has found that using CBD can alleviate types of pain such as chronic pain, nerve pain and menstrual pain. As mentioned, this does not mean that CBD oil is a miracle drug that can cure any pain, but that it can help relieve the pain and remove some of the discomforts that accompany it.
If you are considering using CBD oil for pain relief, whether it is migraine, chronic pain, nerve pain or menstrual pain, we always recommend that you discuss it with your doctor. As emphasized earlier; CBD oil is not a medicine, and if you are already taking different types of medication, it is important to be aware that the effect from CBD oil in some cases can counteract the effect of different types of medicine. For that reason alone, you should always consult your doctor before using CBD.
Why Should I Use CBD?
First of all, should you use CBD oil, because it contains several important vitamins, minerals and proteins, as well as antioxidants, enzymes and other nutrients, which help the body to stay in balance, as well as strengthen your immune system. In addition, CBD oil can act as an alternative, or supplement, to painkillers and other drugs. At Canavita, we know for a fact that CBD oil can have a beneficial effect when it comes to reduce symptoms of illness. We have first handedly experienced, in our close relationships, how effective CBD can be in terms of relieving pain and restoring balance in the body. This has given us confidence to say; that CBD oil can be beneficial for everyone, both in terms of disease and symptom relief, but also to restore the natural balance in the body. On our blog, you can read about some of the people who have benefited from using CBD oil in their everyday life.
As mentioned, there are a number of benefits to using CBD oil. In addition to all the benefits listed above, CBD oil can also improve your blood circulation and lower your blood pressure. The CBD drops can also relieve stress, which in general is something that affects the heart and circulation. One can therefore conclude that CBD oil is good for both body and mind, but also the heart, which is our most important organ.
However, it is important to remember that CBD is not a cure for the disease or disorder in question, but instead a natural alternative that can help alleviate symptoms or discomfort, and help create more joy and quality of life, as well as a healthy balance in body and mind.
How Is CBD Oil Consumed?
Consuming CBD oil is easy. Our products come in a glass bottle with a built-in pipette. You simply suck up the oil with the pipette and then dose the number of drops that you use in your dosage. With the pipette, you drip the desired number of drops under the tongue and leave it there for 20-30 seconds. You then swallow the rest of the oil and possibly rinse with a little water if you don't like the taste.
The reason why it must lie under the tongue for 20-30 seconds, is first of all that the mucous membrane that sits under the tongue is the best place on the body to absorb CBD oil. When you wait for 20-30 seconds, you give the oil optimal conditions to be absorbed by the mucosal surface of the tongue, and thus by the rest of the body's systems.
There are other ways to consume CBD oil. This can for example be in capsules which are swallowed like vitamin pills and other types of pills. In addition, you can also find CBD products such as gummies or creams. However, the best method will always be oral intake, under the tongue, as described above. For the same reason, Canavita only sells CBD in oil form.
How Should CBD Oil Be Stored?
The most optimal place to store your CBD oil is in the refrigerator. Since the oil is best stored in a cool, dark, and airtight place. CBD oil is an organic and thus easily perishable product and for this reason the refrigerator is the best place to store it. If you have children, however, it must be stored out of their reach for obvious safety reasons.By storing your CBD oil in the fridge, you can get the most out of its durability. If the oil is stored correctly, you can count on a shelf life of at least 6 months after opening the bottle. The oil will still be usable, but it will not have the same effect as the active ingredients will begin to break down. You will also experience that the oil will change color and become darker. However, this also has nothing to say in relation to using the oil, you will however experience having to increase your dose.
