• WHAT IS CBD
CBD is short for Cannabidiol, which is extracted from the hemp plant.
CBD interacts via the network of neurons in the body with the body's endocannabinoid system.
The endocannabinoid system is deeply rooted and a central system in our bodies, and this is precisely why people respond so well to CBD, and CBD can benefit so many different types of ailments.
• IS CBD LEGAL?
CBD is legal in most of the world. The only thing to be aware of is the product's THC content, which in most places in Europe must not exceed 0.2% THC.
• HOW DOES CBD WORK?
CBD interacts via the network of neurons with the body's endocannabinoid system.
The endocannabinoid system is deeply rooted and a central system in our bodies, and this is exactly why people respond so well to CBD.
CBD binds to the receptors of the endocannabinoid system, which leads to the stimulation of neurotransmitters, thereby controlling the release or inhibition of hormones.
In other words, CBD goes in and balances the body's central control system.
• HOW FAST CAN I FEEL THE EFFECTS OF CBD?
This is a frequently asked and quite important question that does not have a clear and simple answer.
First of all, it depends on your age, weight, disorder and degree of disorder, metabolism and, of course, how your body responds to CBD.
Typically, the effect begins to occur after a period of 3-5 days, so it is therefore important that you continue your treatment even after the first week, even if you do not yet experience immediate changes. For others, the effect occurs shortly after the first dose, typically after 15 minutes.
• WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD AND DELTA-9 THC?
The first tangible difference between CBD (Cannabidiol) and Delta-9 THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is that CBD is not psychoactive like Delta-9 THC is. You will therefore not get high from using CBD.
In addition, the chemical composition of the two is naturally different, and therefore affects the body in two completely different ways.
• WHAT IS THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM?
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) regulates the balance in our body. This includes, among other things, immune system, metabolism, sleep, memory, fertility, pain etc.
A well-functioning ECS is therefore essential for the body's balance and general health.
The ECS consists of several parts, including enzymes, receptor sites on cells and endocannabinoids.
When there are deviations in the body's homeostasis, the endocannabinoids interact with these receptors with the aim of re-establishing homeostasis (equilibrium) inside the body.
• CAN I USE CBD IF I'M TAKING MEDICINE?
Canavita recommends that you consult your doctor if you are using medication before starting with CBD oil.
• ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS OF USING CBD?
With small to moderate doses of CBD, virtually no side effects are experienced.
With larger doses and in rare cases, fogginess, dizziness, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea may be experienced.
• CAN YOU TAKE CBD ON HOLIDAY?
You can easily bring your CBD on trips as well as flights. The most important thing is that you ensure that your product contains a maximum of 0.2% THC.
• WHAT ARE CANNABINOIDS?
What are cannabinoids? Cannabinoids are the many different substances that occur in the cannabis plant. There are 113 in total, of which the best known are:
THC Delta-9 (Tetrahydrocannabinol)
CBD (Cannabidiol)
CBG (cannabigerol)
CBN (cannabinol)
CBC (cannabichromene)
• What does Canavita CBD oil consist of?
Canavita's CBD oil consists of the extracted distillate from the cannabis
plant (EU certified hemp). To create the different strengths, a carrier oil is
added, organic virgin C8 99% MCT coconut oil.
• How does Canavita extract CBD from the cannabis plant?
Canavita is a leader in Europe in sophisticated cold ethanol extraction and
molecular distillation, which is Canavita's production method for the
production of CBD and CBD oil.
• How do I store CBD oil?
We recommend that you store your CBD oil in a refrigerator, just normal
refrigerator temperature and the oil must not be exposed to direct sunlight for
a long time, as the light can decarboxylate and break down the cannabinoid
content.
• Can you take too much CBD?
As with everything else such as food, medicine and other things, you can
always overuse the product.
If you keep a good logbook of your dosage and note improvements and any
side effects, then you don't have to worry about using too much CBD.
• Is CBD required by prescription?
It must be emphasized that CBD oil is not medicine, and it is therefore not
subject to prescription if the delta-9 THC content does not exceed 0.2%.
The Endocannabinoid System (ECS)
The ECS is a complex cellular signaling system found in the body of all vertebrates, including humans and domestic animals. This system plays an important role in the regulation of a number of physiological processes and influences everything from pain perception and immune system function to appetite, mood and sleep.
ECS consists of three important components:
Endocannabinoids: These are endogenous (the body's own) chemical compounds that are similar to the active compounds found in cannabis plants. The two main endocannabinoids are anandamide and 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG). These substances act as neurotransmitters and bind to cannabinoid receptors in the body.
Cannabinoid receptors: There are two main types of cannabinoid receptors, known as CB1 and CB2 receptors. CB1 receptors are primarily found in the central nervous system, especially in the brain, and are responsible for regulating things like pain perception and mood. CB2 receptors are mainly found in the immune system and are involved in inflammation and immune response.
Enzymes: Enzymes are proteins that break down endocannabinoids when they are no longer needed. The most important enzymes in the ECS are FAAH (fatty acid amide hydrolase), which breaks down anandamide, and MAGL (monoacylglycerol lipase), which breaks down 2-AG.
The ECS functions as a regulatory system that helps maintain homeostasis in the body, meaning it helps maintain a stable internal environmental balance even when external conditions change. This system has been intensively studied for its role in health and disease, and it has also been the target of research in medical cannabis, as cannabinoids from cannabis plants can affect the ECS and have therapeutic effects on various health problems.
CBD and the endocannabinoid system CBD (cannabidiol) affects the endocannabinoid system (ECS) in complex ways, although the mechanisms are not fully understood. Here are some of the known ways that CBD interacts with the ECS:
Indirect effect on cannabinoid receptors: CBD does not directly affect the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the ECS as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) does. Instead, it appears to have an indirect effect on these receptors by changing the way other compounds, particularly the endocannabinoid anandamide, interact with them. CBD inhibits the enzyme FAAH that normally breaks down anandamide, which can lead to an increased concentration of anandamide in the body and possibly an improved effect on the CB1 receptors.
Interaction with other receptors: In addition to cannabinoid receptors, CBD also affects other receptors in the body. It interacts with serotonin receptors (5-HT1A), which may explain its potential effects on anxiety and mood. CBD also has a complex interaction with adenosine receptors that can affect sleep and wakefulness.
Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties: CBD has been studied for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. These properties can affect the immune system and inflammatory processes in the body and thus have an indirect effect on the ECS.
Neuroprotective properties: Some studies suggest that CBD may have neuroprotective properties, meaning it can help protect neurons from damage and degeneration. This can have an impact on neurological conditions such as epilepsy and neurodegenerative diseases.
